For maximum adhesion of your hot fix crystals, the “water drop” test can be used on potential fabrics or materials.  The optimum bond can only be achieved if the carrier material ( the hot fix glue that is always there) can absorb the glue.  If the fabric has a waterproofing finish, it will not absorb drops of water or glue. The water must penetrate the material.  With fabrics that contain a large quantity of softening agents, adhesion can be improved by washing the original materials before the application process. Very fine fabrics such as organza, as well as smooth leather, smooth leather imitations, tightly woven polyamides and fabrics with a silicone or wax finish may not be suitable for hot fix applications because they are unable to absorb the glue. We all know that they will adhere to denim with no problem. Wash that denim first!

Did you ever think about adding bling to your earrings? Take a pair of  boring earings and attach Hot Fix Embellishments to it.  Use the water drop trick above to determine if you can hotfix them or if you need to use the rhinestone glue. Now you have a brand new pair of earrings!

Glitz Hot Fix Crystals is now carring domed pearls. The Hot Fix Half Pearls are an actual half ball. As if you took a orange and cut it in half. The domed pearls do not rise from your project  as much. Although they are domed they have plenty of glue on them they and stick well. They give a nice raised pearl effect, without the height of the half pearl.
